Mario Saves The Toadstool People

The Mushroom Kingdom was a land of magic and beauty. When we go to sleep at night, the Mushroom Kingdom is the world where all of dreams come true.

One day while working on a clogged pipe in our world, the plumber Mario suddenly got pulled down the tube!

When Mario woke up on the other side, he saw green hills and blue skies as far as he could look!

"Where am I?" Mario thought to himself.

Mario decided to look around and see if he could find anyone who could tell him where he was, and how he got there.

While walking around, he saw several little Toadstool people running toward him and screaming for help.

"What?!? What's wrong?" Mario shouted to them. But they didn't stop to answer.

Next thing Mario saw were two mean looking turtles chasing after the Toadstood people. They were called "Koopa Troopers". They were about to knock Mario over until he jumped up in the air to get out of the way. Mario didn't jump high enough and landed right on the back of the second Koopa Trooper! The turtle was so scared his arms and legs hid inside his shell! Mario kicked the shell away from him and it smashed into the other Koopa Trooper, sending them both flying away.

The Toadstool people were so happy that Mario had saved them!

"Thank you! Thank you! How can we repay you?" cheered the Toadstools.

"You can start by telling me where I am and how I got here." Mario answered.

The Toadstools all held hands and danced in a circle while they sang this song:

"Where the clouds are white,

and the night is bright,

You're in the land of freedom!

Where the people all smile,

And you want to stay a while,

It's the Mushroom Kingdom!"  

After all the Toadstools stopped giggling, one little person named Toad took Mario by the hand.

"The Princess might know more about how you got here. She lives in the castle." said Toad.

Toad beckoned for Mario to follow him down the road to the amazing Mushroom Kingdom castle, where the Princess lived, and so he did.

Mario was about to find out many wonderous things about this Mushroom Kingdom. But the first question he hoped to have answered is how to get back home.
